This area of the Website is mainly for clients registered as learners with Community Learning and Development only.(Thursday Literacies group, clients that have taken part in John Muir Award programmes and those undertaking the Personal Development Self and Work Award Unit).

Hi all

Sorry that I am still not able to get the Thursday Literacies session back up and running due to the ongoing Corona Virus situation.

I have now managed to get back to Parklea on Mondays & Wednesdays but, because your days and times at Parklea have been changed and are limited at the moment, I have not yet been able to catch up with everyone. I will be working on this over the next few weeks.

Over the last couple of weeks, I have worked with James, and Ian. We have been doing activities around Remembrance Day, using resources from PoppyScotland Learning. http://learning.poppyscotland.org.uk/poppyscotland-digital-pack-2020/

I thought you might like to try these out at home, using the links to access videos and information on the internet from you own laptops or phones.

If everyone enjoys working in this way, we can make the learners area of the website a thing.

I have also caught up with the boys who are completing their first units of an SQA personal development award around their placements at Parklea.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

When you do the exercises you can

  • write down your answers or ideas in a notebook

  • type them in document on your laptop

  • type them into your notes on your phone, or even,

  • record your conversation on your phone, using voice recorder

  • Or, just chat – but would be good to try something different! Go on – you can do it!
